Default Problems with Frost Gate Mission / Bonus

Can anyone please help me with this problem. I have now as of today completed the main mission and bonus for Frost Gate 4 times. After each completion The Prince is killed and both Bonus and Main mission swords are shown going through the Frost Gate Shield. Now no matter how many times I have done this I still only have one sword and that being the bonus sword in the Frost Gate Shield . Has anyone else had this problem with this mission or any others ? I am really getting tired of redoing the same mission just to try to get the sword to show completion when no matter how many times that I do this nothing happens. If anyone can give me any help Thankyou..

Did you get the 1k xp and 1 skill point? Did you get the xp and skill point in your 2nd or 3rd time as well?

If you complete a mission successfully, you should be at another destination point when you are finished. Where are you each time you finish the mission? If you are back at Frost Gate, then this is a sign that the mission wasn't done successfully for some reason. If you are at the next location, then you have finished the mission.

Each and every time that I have finished the mission It shows both the bonus sword and the main mission sword going through the Frost Gate shield and then it drops me at Beacons perch. I have completed this mission over 4 times now and that has been with friends and with henches . I do not believe that I missed anything. I keep the dwarf alive and then make sure that the prince gets through the gate of of coarse watch him be beheaded ( always nice to see) I have done it so many times now that I am almost to the belief that if I do it again the Prince may actually live ( okay not really ) but that is not the point . What am I to do?, The sword that is showing up on the Frost Gate shield is coming from top left to right bottom and for some reason the other does not show up. hmmm. Any ideas. also do you remember which sword represents which mission main or bonus?

if you're at beacons you've completed the mission. It's just a graphical error that isn't showing the sword. move on, stop doing the mission.

It's not the mission your not completing it's the Bonus.

The following is a brief description of the bonus:
The bonus mission is to steal the plans for a siege weapon. To get there you have to blow open a gate with an old decrepit ballista. You get the quest in the Dryder Cave and once you get out of the cave go down the hill to the right (as opposed to going across the bridge on the left) to find the ballista. The gate to the plans is the first one on the left after you go back and cross the bridge. (Hint: it is easier to clear everything out before you blow the gate to the plans, not as many groups to take out at one time later...it is also easier if you clear out the mobs on the way to the bonus BEFORE you talk to the dwarf. If he dies during the run to the siege engine, bye bye bonus.).

The bonus is not to get the Dwarf to the end of the mission but to find the plans.
When you redo a mission that you have already done it does show the Sword coming in from the other side, never the less on the Main Map it will show that you have only done the mission. (Mission - Sword from the left, Bonus - Sword from the right)

I do remember doing this. However it will never hurt to do it again due to the fact that it will still build a little xp and give me drops to salvage. Thanks for this advice. I am sure to concentrate on this part now. Thanks once again

Oh yes, this is a funny funny bonus to try to do correctly! I've played it countless times with my 4 characters, sometimes just helping friends through it. After the first few attempts we found out from another person that the trick is to NOT talk to the dwarf until you clear the way. Otherwise, unless you are a really strong party, the dwarf WILL die. Bye bye bonus.

The funny thing is to try to assemble a party and make it clear to 100% of them that they are not to talk to the dwarf! Its amazing how there is always at least one idiot that doesn't listen ;-)

I have done the mission a few times to, first time, dwarf died... second time, I got the bonus. Now when I did the mission + bonus with my one character, I did it with hench. I cleared the way, went and got the dwarf, got the plans blah blah then went for the gate gear lever as part 2 of the mission. I kept getting "Hurry before the prince is overwhelmed" messages but I proceeded on past the gear lever areas and killed EVERYTHING on the map I could find. Nothing survived and then I went back and opened the gate. Not once was the prince even attacked.

Did the mission again with my second character... same thing, the prince was not attacked. Oh well... lol if you need help, look me up.

It gets even more funny when you finally get to Underworld and Fissure of Woe. "OOOO there's a guy with a green excamation point over his head. Let's talk to him and take the quest" Followed by "Where'd all these mobs come from? There's twice as many as a moment ago"
*Deep sigh*

To Auntie:

Yes, I understand you well. But there is a big difference between what I was jokingly referring to and your case in UW and FOW. Namely, that each time I tried that Frost Gate mission, I explicitly explained to the group NOT to talk to the dwarf. The funny part is how nobody listens. On the other hand, if I was in UW or FOW for the very first time, and I saw someone with an explanation mark above their heads, I would certainly talk to them, not knowing any better. For some reason, most players seem to assume that FOW/UW newbies somehow already know not to do that, don't bother explaining anything, and then get extremely angry when the deed is done.
